DC Bus

The DC Bus is the farm’s common DC rail. Sources generate onto it (through charge controllers, except Human Power, which connects directly). The Battery Bank is the bus buffer. The inverter is the primary means of removing power. Lab and grid do not draw raw generation; they draw inverter AC after the bus.

Voltage

Purchasable voltage tiers in the Mechanical Room cumulatively reduce the DC Bus’s base transmission loss. The loss applies to all DC Bus components: generation after charge controllers, battery charge/discharge, and inverter DC draw.

DC_Bus_Loss = Base_Loss − Voltage_Tier_Reduction

Power that cannot be consumed in real time on the DC Bus is clipped (wasted). See Energy routing.

The documented loop starts here: generate energy on the DC Bus, send inverter output to the grid for Energy Credits, purchase unlocked generators and infrastructure, repeat.
